All YMCA Youth Sports programs are based on the YMCA’s
“Everybody Plays, Everybody Wins!” philosophy. No matter what
your child’s age or ability, he or she will learn character values,
sportsmanship, and valuable new skills as a member of YMCA
Youth Sports. We use a child-appropriate curriculum, sensitive to
the needs and abilities of each individual participant.

A mainstay of YMCA offerings for young people, YMCA youth
sports programs fill kids' discretionary hours with positive
activities and caring adult attention. Coaches—often volunteers,
including many parents—emphasize teamwork and cooperation
over winning at any cost, developing good values over developing
the next superstar.

Basketball and volleyball, both YMCA inventions, are popular
youth programs, as are soccer and progressive gymnastics. Like
many youth sports programs, YMCA coaches lead players through
drills and games that build skills, develop coordination and enhance
a love of the game. But what makes us special is our philosophy.
We make sure everyone participates. And we emphasize the
development of character -- caring, honesty, respect and
responsibility. At the YMCA, what happens off the field is just as
important as what happens on the field. Fill your child’s free hours
with safe, fun activities around caring adults at the YMCA.

Flag Football

Flag football is a minimum contact alternative to tackle football.

game and to get ready for tackle leagues. Open to boys and
girls in first through 6th grades.  Registration begins in July.
Practice begins in August, two to three times per week, with games
being played on Saturdays beginning in September.  Fees include
a team t-shirt.  Parent volunteers and coaches needed.
