Today, the Licking County Family YMCA instills the same values
of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in its members as it
did 131 years ago. Your membership support of the YMCA insures
that these values continue to touch all of our members for the next
hundred years.

As members of the Licking County Family YMCA, many of us have
our own piece in the Y story. Whether we work out at the YMCA
every day, or we grew up participating in YMCA programs as kids,
we know how much this organization offers to our community.

The Licking County Family YMCA continually reaches out to the
children, families, and seniors of our community with a wide array
of character building programs. We are much more than a fitness
facility-we are a community-based, social service organization.
The Y offers infant, toddler & preschool care, after-school activities
for kids, a teen program, older active adult programming, a senior
walking program and warm-water arthritis classes.

For many of the individuals participating in these programs, the
Licking County Family YMCA offers financial aid scholarships.
Without the help of financial aid, many people could not afford to
take part in our programs. Every year we hold an annual campaign
in order to help cover the cost of these scholarships and youth
programs. In other words, every contribution to the campaign allows
someone, who could otherwise not afford to, take advantage of
all that the YMCA has to offer.

Many people mistakenly believe that their membership fees support
all of the programs at the YMCA, and, therefore, they do not give
any other support. However, membership fees only cover the cost
of operating our facilities and programs. The cost of operating many
of our social service programs and the scholarships we award are
not completely covered by fees. It is only through the generosity of
the people who believe that these programs are important to the
quality of life in our community that these efforts are possible. We
could not keep building strong kids, strong families, and strong
communities without your support.

Volunteer

Volunteerism is the backbone of the YMCA. Without selfless
volunteers, many activities and services could not take place.
Volunteers serve on committees, task forces and the Board of
Directors; volunteering at all levels including programming,
supervision, and clerical areas.

The YMCA is a membership organization. Each member has a
vested interest in the affairs of the YMCA. We need and encourage
volunteer support and participation. Please contact a member of
our staff for information on how you can become a YMCA volunteer!

Friends of the YMCA

Each year the Licking County Family YMCA provides financial
assistance to over 850 individuals including 575 children who
would otherwise not be able to afford the YMCA experience. Our
YMCA also provides over 3,000 children the opportunity to go to
camp and participate in youth sport activities. United Way
contributions account for only a small portion of the monies needed
each year for these individuals. Without contributions from people
like you, we are unable to provide these services. For more
information on how you can become a Friend of the Y, contact the
Associate Executive Director.

Building the Future— Brick by Brick

The Brick by Brick program is a unique opportunity for members
to become a part of the rich history of the Licking County Family
YMCA. Your brick can memorialize a family member, recognize
your service club or give a lasting birthday, retirement, or
anniversary gift. With the purchase of a brick, you help build the
future of our YMCA. Each brick costs $100. Over 90% of the funds
raised directly benefit YMCA capital projects.

are recognized by gold, silver or bronze leaves. Donations to the
Friends of the Y campaigns, capital campaign gifts and endowment
fund gifts are all included. For more information on joining our Donor
Tree, contact the Licking County Family YMCA Executive Director.

Helping Today Preserve Tomorrow

for children, adults and seniors. It is the promise of a vibrant
YMCA which enjoys growth and expansion in the years ahead.

This financial support will enable us to fulfill our mission of
"providing services to those in need regardless of their ability to
pay established fees." At the YMCA, we can proudly say that no
