Sports / Specialty Camp (Newark Only)

The Licking County Family YMCA offers Licking County children a
host of opportunities for summers of fun. Our goal is to provide an
environment where campers can grow physically, mentally and
spiritually through challenging activities in both small and large
group settings under the guidance of experienced YMCA staff.
Our Summer Camp programs are designed for children ages 5—16.
We offer a host of safe, structured and fun activities. All camps focus
on friendship and exploration with activities that include: swimming,
environmental learning, physical fitness and field trips*. Lunch and
a snack are included for all Newark campers.  Western Branch
campers please bring a packed lunch and snack.  All campers
please bring a water bottle. Camp registration begins in early Spring.

At YMCA Camp every day is an adventure. Youth and teens learn
to be honest and care, to respect, to be responsible for themselves
and the environment. These are the values that make YMCA
camping different and extraordinary.
Join us for an adventure — learn something for a lifetime!

The Licking County Family YMCA is an American Camping
Association Accredited Camp.

LIT Programs

The YMCA offers exciting opportunities for teens, ages 13—16, to
experience summer fun and develop leadership skills through LIT
summer programs.  LITs have an opportunity to begin friendships
for the summer while getting the training they need to be successful
as volunteers helping our day camp.  LIT campers work as a group
to explore and enhance their leadership skills, self-confidence,
self-esteem while learning the importance of responsibility.
LITs participate in team building activities, receive American Red
Cross certification in First Aid and CPR.

Sports/Specialty Camps (Newark Only)

Sports camps are designed to help participants grow physically,
mentally and spiritually. We challenge campers to improve skills
through activities in both small and large group settings under the
guidance of caring well-trained staff members. All of our sports
camps are recreational, non-competitive camps which include every
participant emphasizing the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty,
respect, responsibility and faith. Fair play and sportsmanship is
expected at all times.

Specialty camps may appeal to campers who are looking for more
educational or non-traditional camp experiences. Specialty camps
are based both indoors and out, and may include field trips during
the week.

All sports and specialty campers take part in some traditional camp
activities like swimming and lunch.
